Sowams Heritage Area Project Coordinator Dr. David Weed was interviewed by Bob Poniatowski on East Bay Today at the Portsmouth RI cable TV station on February 4, 2020. They taped a 10-minute interview for the “East Bay Today” show and then the half-hour “Time Capsule” show that each covered how the Sowams Heritage Area Project started two years earlier and the progress that’s been made toward creating a new National Heritage Area between Providence and Bristol, RI. Both are programs are scheduled to air both statewide and locally. “East Bay Today” will air statewide on Channel A on Cox, Full Channel 13, and Verizon Channel 32 on Thursday, February 13th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday the 16th at 4:30 p.m. “Time Capsule” will air on Wednesday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. and Friday, February 14th at 4:30 p.m. Both programs will also air on East Bay Channel 18.
