Wenley Ferguson talks about her work on the restoration of hydrology in Sowams

In a July 6, 2023 Zoom session, Wenley Ferguson, Director of Restoration for Save the Bay, reported on recent watershed restoration projects in the Sowams Meadows Preserve in Warren, along the Kickemuit and Palmer Rivers, and in Tiverton. Click here for a 57-minute recording of her presentation.

(Above) Ferguson illustrated the work done on salt marsh restoration projects in the Sowams region, including work currently underway at the Haile Farm Preserve managed by the Warren Land Trust.

(Above) She also illustrated how runnels have been used to restore salt marsh hydrology at Jacobs Point and the Sowams Meadows Preserve in Warren. This environmental work is a key objective of the Sowams Heritage Area Project.
