Tour of Clemence-Irons and Arnold 17th century houses

The 17th Century RI group visited two 17th century houses on July 28th as part of their monthly exploration of locations from the 1600s within 25 miles of Providence.

The group first visited the Clemence-Irons house in Johnston, one of the state’s oldest and a great example of a restored building from the late 17th century.

Local historian Robert Geake described the history of the house before taking the group on a tour inside.

The group then headed over to Lincoln where Karen Deenan led the group on a tour of all three floors of the Arnold house that dates to 1693.
