Roger Williams Family Association gathers at Margaret’s Rock

The Roger Wiiliams Family Association, made up of descendants of the colonial era author and statesman, meets at Margaret’s Rock in Swansea every other year, to celebrate his survival during the winter of 1636 on his way to found the City of Providence. Members walk to the Rock through the woods that surround it and pause to share some memories of past visits.

Association President Dawn Williams shows Association Historian Mary (French) Channing some of the items in the extensive scrapbook her daughter created.

Nearby neighbor and Providence College professor Keith Morton shares some of his observations after President Dawn Williams recounts some of the history of Williams life.
