Rehoboth State Forest offers a forested walking path leading to a white cedar swamp

The Rehoboth State Forest features a gentle one-mile loop trail, which includes a spur trail leading to an Atlantic white cedar swamp, a natural feature once characteristic of eastern Massachusetts. Click here for a two-and-a-half-minute video of the trail.

A trail map at the beginning of the trail points to a 1.25 mile Healthy Heart Pine Loop Trail that is clearly marked by DCR blue paint blazes on the trees.

The remains of a stone wall are the only evidence of the parcel’s early use as a farm. The trails often contain rocks and roots that make walking challenging.

Some of the portions of the trail that abut the white cedar swamp have boardwalks over the most muddy sections.
